Gift Giving in Edmonton - What's in Your Basket?

Posted by

Specially Made is an Edmonton-based company that believes in supporting the local economy as much as possible. By supporting local, our community grows and becomes stronger.  Buying local can help create job opportunities and keep people employed, which in turn, keeps the money invested right here in Edmonton and surrounding areas.  What locally sourced goods are in Specially Made baskets?  Read on to find out!

At Specially Made, we try to include as many local items as possible.  We even have a #YEG Basket containing all locally sourced items!

Looking to build your own basket?  Visit some of our favourite vendors:

  • Confetti Sweets - The most delicious cookie company here in Edmonton.  We try to include fresh baked cookies in the majority of our baskets! They have a location in Sherwood Park, Terwillegar and now in west Edmonton.
  • Good Luck Sock - That's right, our sock bouquets are made up of funky and hip socks from Good Luck Sock.  They started as a pop up store in West Edmonton Mall and have grown into Edmonton's favourite sock company with numerous Sock of the Month Club members!
  • Sweet & Spicy - Sweet & Spicy is our main provider for the #YEG Basket.  They are a small home based business that we had the pleasure in meeting at the Southwest Edmonton Farmers' Market.  They make quality rubs, spices, infused salts and sauces, and recipients of our baskets have raved about their Roasted Garlic Sea Salt!
  • Teadore - Teadore is an organic loose leaf tea company in Edmonton.  They have amazing blends and are committed to their social responsibility.  We enjoy using Teadore in custom gifts and baskets that are meant to soothe and nurture.
  • Zyp Chicks - We had the pleasure of meeting the Zyp Chicks at a farmers' market and we couldn't be happier.  We use their Hemp-AID Pain Spray in our fitness baskets.  Their spray provides tremendous relief to sore and tired muscles.  Their hemp product is grown by Wilmar Farms, a small family run business in Alberta and is produced in the most sustainable way.
  • Kari's Kreations - Kari's cake pops are delicious, visually appealing and can be found in many of our baskets.  We especially love putting the festive cake pops in our Christmas Gift Baskets.  Kari is talented and her cake pops are divine.  They are the perfect treat for any party!

Other local suppliers we use include:

  • DeBoers
  • Flowers By Cathy
  • Canadian Kettle Corn
  • Gourmet Granola
  • Triple L Cakes
  • and more!
